To be a Muslim we must believe in two things:
Believing in these two things is known as ‘shahada’. Below you can see how we say the ‘shahada’ in Arabic and exactly what it means in English:

This is a short way of writing'peace be upon him'.
Whenever we say the name of a prophet we should say peace be upon him.
It is very important that we believe the shahada in our hearts. Just saying it with our tongues is not enough. We have to mean it.
To be a Muslim you have to believe the shahada from your heart first.
